To celebrate the end of the year, Uijeongbu Music Library will hold a ‘Visiting Concert’ with the KBS Symphony Orchestra on December 13th at 7pm.
Founded in 1956, the KBS Symphony Orchestra is Korea’s top orchestra. On this day, it performed classical music such as Mozart’s ‘The Marriage of Figaro’ and Puccini’s ’Opera La Bohème’, as well as the original sound of Disney’s ‘Frozen’ and Joe Hisaishi’s ‘Howl’s Moving castle’. Even the track (OST) will feature music that matches the New Year’s atmosphere.
Choi Seon-young, the only conductor of soprano Sumi jo, will lead the conductor, and tenor Lim Deok-soo, who is active on the world stage, and soprano Joo-yeon Jeong, who has won numerous competitions, will appear as collaborators.
This performance will be held on the open stage on the first floor of the music library, and anyone can attend for free without reservation.

Meanwhile, Uijeongbu City (Mayor Kim Dong-geun) has completed the reorganization of the ‘2030 Uijeongbu city Landscape Plan’ and will be making public notices for residents to view by December 30th.
The landscape plan is a statutory plan under the ‘Landscape Act’ and is reorganized every five years for the purpose of systematic management of the landscape and creation of a dignified urban landscape.
The 2030 Uijeongbu City Landscape Plan established this time reflects the feasibility study of the previous landscape plan and changes in the urban landscape, and was set as a future landscape vision called ‘Feel the diversity of Uijeongbu in nature and the city.’
Specifically, four landscape goals were presented: ▲Uijeongbu with abundant four seasons, ▲Uijeongbu with people and cityscape in harmony, ▲Uijeongbu with charm embracing history and culture, and ▲Uijeongbu beatiful with light.
In addition, in accordance with the characteristics of each region, new names will be set as urban central region, metropolitan administrative region, future residential region, and forest green area, and landscape guidelines for each element will be prepared to ensure efficient landscape management.
In particular, the colour policy (guideline) for each region was revised to present a range of colors appropriate for uses such as residential, commercial, and public buildings, and example images were added to help citizens understand and increase usability.

Jong-seong Ahn, head of the Urban design Department, said, “We hope that a pleasant urban environment in harmony with nature and the city will be created through the newly revised ‘2030 Uijeongbu City Landscape Plan’.” He added, “We will continue to do our best for sustainable landscape management.”
