Ukraine will take part in the world’s largest architectural exhibition – news on UNN

KYIV. April 12. UNN. For the first time in 10 years, Ukraine will take part in the world’s largest architectural exhibition Biennale Architettura 2023 with the Before the Future project. The event will take place in Venice from May 20 to November 26. write UNN with reference to Ministry of Reconstruction of Ukraine.

Ukraine is returning to the exhibition after an almost 10-year absence — it was last presented at the Biennale Architettura in 2014. The relevant decision was adopted by the Ministry of Community Development, Territories and Infrastructure of Ukraine.

“The reconstruction of Ukraine is not only about the post-war restoration of the destroyed, but also about new opportunities for architectural solutions and, in general, rethinking the image of a modern Ukrainian city or village. Biennale Architettura is a platform where we can show our architectural potential and our vision both for Ukraine and for the whole world. We invite Ukrainian architects to participate in the Biennale. After all, modern Ukrainian architectural thought, despite the war, moves together with the world context and has something to offer the international community,” commented the Vice-Prime Minister for the Reconstruction of Ukraine – Minister of Community Development, Territories and Infrastructure Oleksandr Kubrakov.

It is assumed that the Ukrainian project Before the Future will be presented at the exhibition. The Commissioner of the Ukrainian pavilion at the exhibition will be the Head of the State Tourism Development Agency of Ukraine, Maryana Oleskiv. The exhibition itself will begin its work in Venice on May 20 and will last until November 26.

Biennale Architettura is an international architecture exhibition held every 2 years in Venice. As part of it, the participating countries have the opportunity to set up their own pavilions and present their architectural vision.
The main goal of the exhibition is to demonstrate architectural solutions that would provide answers to modern social, technological and cultural challenges.
