The authoritative and influential Ukrainian news site “Ukrainska Pravda” accused the administration of President <a href="https://time.news/mega-storm-hits-southern-russia-and-ukraine/" title="“Mega storm” hits southern Russia and Ukraine“>Volodymyr Zelensky of “exerting pressure”, France Press reported.
According to the media, the Ukrainian presidency exerted systematic pressure on her, with the aim of influencing her editorial policy.
In its position, the site said it was outrageous to resort to such a practice, especially in the midst of the Russian-led war against Ukraine. “Now our common struggle for both survival and democratic values is essential,” said the statement of Ukrainska Pravda, quoted by BTA.
Specifically, the outlet claims that the presidential administration has banned senior Ukrainian officials from communicating with its journalists and from participating in events organized by the site. Ukrainska Pravda also says that the presidency pressured the business to end its advertising cooperation with it.
Deputy Yaroslav Yurcichyn, head of the parliamentary committee on freedom of expression, sent an official request to the prosecutor’s office and the police asking them to investigate these allegations. “If this information is confirmed, those responsible for putting pressure on the media must be punished,” he wrote in Telegram.
