Understanding the Distinction Between Social and Biological Gender: Debunking the Sweden Democrats’ Claims

Gender is not black and white and it is not binary, as the Sweden Democrats claim. Social gender is separated from biological gender. Unfortunately, the word gender in Swedish is used as a homonym for gender and biological sex, which leads to these being often confused in the debate. However, this does not change their distinction, which, among other things, has wide acceptance among scientists and biologists.
