According to the latest “Sunday trend”, the CDU/CSU is losing support slightly. At the same time, the AfD is stagnating at 19 percent and the Greens are gaining slightly.
The new “Sunday trend” from the polling institute Insa and “Bild” shows that the CDU/CSU remains the strongest force in Germany with 30 percent. However, it has lost one percentage point compared to the previous survey. Before CDU leader Friedrich Merz was announced as candidate for chancellor, the Union was still at up to 33 percent. The SPD also loses and now has 15 percent, which also corresponds to a decrease of one percentage point.
The AfD remains stable at 19 percent, while the Greens increased slightly and are now at 11 percent (+1). The FDP maintains its position unchanged at 4 percent. The Left also remains stable at 3 percent, and the BSW party also remains unchanged at 9 percent.
The “Other” category gains one percentage point and is now at 9 percent overall. The survey was conducted by INSA and a total of 1,204 people were interviewed for this survey between October 21 and 25, 2024. The maximum error tolerance is +/- 2.9 percentage points.
