Following the transfer of Chief Justice of Chennai High Court to Meghalaya, the President has ordered that Senior Judge of the Chennai High Court, Duraisamy, take over the duties of the Chief Justice.
Chennai High Court judge has been transferred, while Allahabad High Court senior judge Muneeswaranath Bandari has been transferred. Until he assumes office as a Chennai High Court judge, Judge Duraisamy will oversee the work of the Chief Justice.
The President has also ordered that Justice Muniswaranath Bandari take over the duties of the Chief Justice after he takes over as the Senior Judge of the Chennai High Court. The Federal Ministry of Law and Justice has issued a statement on the President’s order.
