According to data from US authorities, 2021 was the sixth warmest year since measurements began.

In addition, the past eight years have been the warmest overall since records began in 1880, the US climate agency NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) and the US space agency Nasa said at a joint press conference on Thursday.
“The science leaves no room for doubt: climate change is the existential threat of our time,” said NASA CEO Bill Nelson. Earlier this week, the EU’s Copernicus climate change service reported that, according to its records, the past seven years have been the seven warmest on Earth since measurements began.
