Washington: There are only two weeks left for voting in the US presidential election. Meanwhile, the results of a survey released on Monday (October 21) show that there is a tough race for the White House between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump in seven states. The Washington Post/Shaar School poll shows Democratic Harris leading in Georgia, 51 to 47. At the same time, Republican Trump is leading in Arizona with 49 points as compared to 46. Both findings have a margin of error of plus or minus 4.5 percent. Harris, who became the Democratic candidate after Biden withdrew from the race, has also got a lead in Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin. According to survey data, Trump is leading in North Carolina, while in Nevada he is tied with Harris by a margin of 48-48. This survey was conducted among 5016 voters between 30 September and 15 October.
Trump in the race for the third time
78-year-old Trump is claiming for the White House for the third consecutive time. He had to face defeat from Biden in the 2020 US elections. After the defeat, he has alleged massive voter fraud. He faces federal and state criminal charges in connection with an attempt to overturn the election results. Trump has called the allegations a conspiracy.
Thorns in the second survey also
The findings on Monday are similar to recent survey results, which have shown a tough contest between the two leaders. According to the Post poll, 49 percent of voters supported Harris, while 48 percent said they supported Trump. A Reuters/Ipsos poll last week found Harris holding a slight lead over Trump, 45-42. Trump has overtaken Harris for the first time in the Decision Desk survey. Trump’s victory is estimated at 52 percent. At the same time, Harris has been given a 48 percent chance of winning.
