Lt. Gen. Scott Barrier, a U.S. intelligence official, has said that Pakistan is in the process of modernizing and increasing its nuclear arsenal.
He was addressing the Senate Committee on the Armed Forces of the US Congress on India-Pakistan relations.
India-Pakistan relations have deteriorated since the last Pulwama attack in 2019.
Pakistan, which sees India’s nuclear weapons as a military force, considers their country’s nuclear weapons important.
Thus, the US intelligence official said that Pakistan was training its military to compete with India, which could worsen the situation.
