Utilities tariffs will rise in Russia from July 1

by time news

In Russia, from July 1, on average, tariffs in housing and communal services will increase by 3.3 percent.

Izvestia, citing the Federal Antimonopoly Service, reports that tariffs are raised annually on July 1. Each subject of the federation has its own bar that cannot be exceeded. However, the average growth in the country should remain at the inflation rate.

“This year, the average growth in utility tariffs should not exceed four percent. The actual growth will be 3.3 percent, ”the FAS noted.

The department’s specialists monitor compliance with the limit indices in order to prevent an unreasonable increase in utility tariffs. After setting new tariffs, the department will analyze the data and, if violations are detected, will force the tariffs to be reduced.

“We use the principle of“ inflation minus ”, which allows us to prevent the indexation of payments from citizens by more than the amount of inflation,” the FAS stressed.
