Uzbekistan proposes to consider the possibility of joining the Business Council BRICS all interested countries.
As Day.Az reports with reference to Trend, the President of Uzbekistan said this Shavkat Mirziyoyevspeaking at the first plenary session of the XVI BRICS summit in the BRICS plus format in Kazan.
The President of Uzbekistan noted that the country supports the development of business contacts within the Association. Uzbekistan is also ready for close and mutually beneficial cooperation with the BRICS countries to achieve common sustainable development goals.
“Together with our BRICS partners, we expect to work closely to strengthen transport connectivity, create new transcontinental corridors, form reliable logistics supply chains, and develop a coastal shipping system. Our focus will also be on ensuring food and energy security, overcoming the negative consequences of climate change and protection health,” he said.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev added that during the productive Russian chairmanship, Uzbekistan took an active part in the BRICS Youth Summit and Sports Games, legal and parliamentary forums, a high-level meeting in the field of security and other events.
Note that BRICS is an intergovernmental organization created in 2006. Russia assumed the chairmanship of BRICS on January 1, 2024. Currently, in addition to Russia, Brazil, India, China and South Africa, the organization’s members include Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, the UAE and Saudi Arabia.
