To live happily, let’s get married in secret. In the utmost discretion, while France held its breath before the round of 16 of the World Cup in Russia, Vanessa Paradis and her partner, the writer and director Samuel Benchetrit, passed the ring on their finger in Saint-Siméon (Seine-et – Marne), as Le Parisien was able to ascertain on site.
The actress and singer entered the small school hall of Saint-Siméon dressed in a cream-colored ruffled dress. It was the 60th minute of France’s match against Argentina, and around twenty spectators were torn between the match and the celebrity event unfolding before them.
The intimate ceremony brought together a few dozen guests including Matthieu Chedid, the singer Raphaël and obviously Lily-Rose, the 19-year-old daughter born from the star’s free union with Johnny Depp until 2012.
After about thirty minutes, just as the rest of France was celebrating the historic victory (4-3) against Argentina, the union was declared and the guests began to leave the town hall.

The star has many ties to this town of 900 inhabitants near Coulommiers. It was in Saint-Siméon that his father died at the end of 2017. He owned a restaurant, Les Sources, in the nearby village of Saint-Rémy-la-Vanne.
Vanessa Paradis and Samuel Benchetrit, both 45, made their relationship official in August 2017. They had been together since November. The director had chosen his future wife to play the female protagonist in his next film, “Dog”, an adaptation of his novel published in 2015.
