Runner-up Stuttgart could strike twice in the winter transfer window. A professional should come from the league competitor.

VfB Stuttgart apparently wants to strengthen itself both offensively and defensively this winter. As the pay-TV broadcaster Sky reports, the previous season’s runner-up is interested in striker Jacob Bruun Larsen and central defender Kevin Danso.

The signing of Bruun Larsen, who is under contract with TSG Hoffenheim until the summer, is already on the home stretch. According to Sky, he is about to sign a contract that runs until 2027 with the option of a further year. The only drawback: the transfer fee has not yet been negotiated.

Bruun Larsen has already played 19 games for TSG this season. He contributed two goals and two assists. In Hoffenheim he is more of a joker. The starting point for Kevin Danso is different. The central defender is one of the permanent staff at RC Lens.

He played eleven full-time league games in the French Ligue 1. In Stuttgart he is supposed to fill the hole in the defense caused by Dan-Axel Zagadou’s knee injury. Danso’s contract in Lens runs until 2027, which is why signing the Austrian could be expensive. According to the report, Stuttgart is therefore examining further options. Danso would be a familiar face in the Bundesliga, playing more than 40 games in the FC Augsburg jersey between 2017 and 2019.

After 15 match days in the Bundesliga, VfB is currently in tenth place in the table. Next weekend the Swabians will face their next duel against FC Augsburg (Sunday, from 5.30 p.m. in the live ticker on t-online).
