This year, the Nobel Prize in Physics goes to researchers who deal with simulating the climate and researching complex systems. Half of the prize goes to the Germans Klaus Hasselmann and Syukuro Manabe (USA / Japan). The other half of the award goes to the Italian Giorgio Parisi. The scientists are being honored for their “groundbreaking contributions to the understanding of complex physical systems”, according to the Nobel Prize Committee.
