Virat Kohli vs BCCI | Kohli’s allegations against BCCI; Sourav Ganguly finally breaks his silence Virat Kohli vs BCCI

The controversy over the limited overs captaincy of the Indian cricket team has been a hot topic in the cricket world for the past few days. At a press conference here yesterday, Virat Kohli had hinted that the BCCI’s one-day captaincy change had been handled very badly.

Kohli said he was aware of the last-minute change of captaincy in the ODIs and that there was no pre-negotiation and that no one had asked him to step down as T20 captain. “All members of the BCCI welcomed the resignation of the T20 captain,” he told a news conference on Monday. Kohli’s words refute the allegations made earlier by BCCI President Sourav Ganguly.

Ganguly said that he had asked Kohli not to step down as T20 captain and that they had no plans to replace him, but things changed when Kohli vacated the T20 captaincy. Kohli’s statement was completely different from what Ganguly said, prompting strong protests from fans against the BCCI president.

Ganguly has remained silent on the issue amid growing protests from fans. This is Dada’s response when asked by reporters at a press conference in Kolkata. “Nothing to say, but the BCCI is looking into it.”

Kohli’s statements made it clear that there was a rift in communication with the BCCI. This was evident from Kohli’s dismissal of BCCI President Sourav Ganguly’s comments on the captaincy at a press conference.

Kohli took a different view from the loss of the captaincy in the ODIs and the explanation given by Ganguly. The chief selector called me only an hour and a half before the selection of the Test team for the tour of South Africa. We talked about something related to the test team. Mutual agreement was reached regarding the team for the series. Just before the end of the phone conversation, the five selectors said that I would no longer be the ODI captain. He later spoke about the matter during the selection process. There has been no communication on the matter before. If the selectors had decided not to continue with the captaincy in ODIs, he would have had no problem with that. There was no difficulty in acknowledging that. But Kohli responded that this could have been mentioned earlier.
