The industry wants to believe in a revival for these technologies, in the wake of new devices from Apple or Sony. If the revolution remains to be demonstrated among the general public, the professional market sees the potential of the technology.

A mischievous trip from Apple. It has been several years now that the Californian giant has been conspicuous by its absence at CES in Las Vegas, even though it is the biggest tech show on the planet. On Tuesday, ahead of the official opening of the show, Tim Cook’s group managed to gain media coverage with a highly anticipated announcement: the marketing in the United States of its Vision Pro mixed reality headset, scheduled for February 2.

By revealing this date, Apple even pulled the rug out from under one of its future competitors. A few hours later, Sony took advantage of its launch conference at CES to unveil a brand new mixed reality headset, allowing, thanks to the same product, to go from a completely virtual to physical universe.

Had the rumor of the Japanese group’s launch reached the Cupertino headquarters so that it wanted to get ahead of it? The anecdote in any case reveals the renewed interest around the helmet industry…
