On May 17, CBI officials raided more than 10 locations owned by senior Congress leader P. Chidambaram and his son, MP Karthi Chidambaram. During the raid, the CBI registered a case against Karthi Chidambaram for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 50 lakh to issue visas to more than 200 Chinese. Following that, CBI officials arrested Karthi Chidambaram’s auditor Bhaskar Ramana in the same case. Later, Karthi Chidambaram appeared in person today at the CBI office in Delhi for the hearing of the visa abuse case. “I have not arranged for any Chinese national to get a visa,” Chidambaram told reporters before entering the interrogation office.
