August in the moonlight in the ruins of the Archaeological Park of Herculaneum and special programs such as ‘The Fridays of Herculaneum’nocturnal itineraries of guided tours and performances, which for this year’s edition propose wood as a central theme, building material and furnishing element testified to in Herculaneum by rare and unique objects in the world, thanks to which it appears with extraordinary clarity the daily life of the time.
The visits offer guided tours to the site, enriched by lights, image projections and suggestive “Living pictures”, curated by Theaters 35, which complete this itinerary among the charms of the ancient city. Starting on July 29, the evenings will be repeated until September, with groups of up to 30 people each with shifts every 10 minutes, from 20 to 22.30, for a journey lasting an hour and a half. Sunday 7 August then returns #Domenicalmuseo, an initiative of the Ministry of Culture which provides free admission on the first Sunday of the month: the Herculaneum Park will be accessible to all visitors from 8.30 to 19.30 – last admission at 18.00. Finally, on the occasion of Ferragosto, which also coincides with the recurrence of the Feast of the Assumption particularly felt in Herculaneum, the Archaeological site adheres to the ministerial initiative ‘Ferragosto al Museo’.
