WashU Golf Faces Uphill Battle at Historic Triangle Invitational, Competes in Bearcat Dual Gender Event

The No. 3 Washington University in St. Louis golf team concluded the first day of competition at the Historic Triangle Invitational in ninth place, while also participating in the Bearcat Dual Gender event. The team will look to climb the leaderboard as competition continues.
Historic Triangle Invitational Update
WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The Washington University in St. Louis women’s golf team carded a 316 on Friday, placing them ninth among a competitive field at the Historic Triangle Invitational, hosted by Christopher Newport University. The tournament is being held at Kingsmill Resort, the future site of the 2025 NCAA Championships, a par-72 course spanning 5,639 yards.
Sophomore Nicole McGuire currently leads the Bears, tied for 11th place with a score of 75. Junior Amy Beanblossom is tied for 32nd after shooting a 79, alongside teammate Junior Reagan Robinson, who is competing as an individual.
First-year players are also making an impact, with Saxon Skinner tied for 39th with an 80 and Jessy Young tied for 48th with an 82. Senior Tiffany Chan rounded out the team scores, tied for 58th with an 84.

Bearcat Dual Gender Competition
In addition to the invitational, a pair of WashU golfers are competing as individuals at the Bearcat Dual Gender, hosted by McKendree University. The competition is taking place at Far Oaks Golf Club, a par-72 course measuring 6,002 yards.
First-year Angela Chen posted an opening-round score of 83, while sophomore Mabrie McMahan carded an 86.
Looking Ahead
The Bears will resume competition in both events tomorrow. The team will tee off at 8 a.m. ET for the final rounds of the Historic Triangle Invitational, while the Bearcat Dual Gender will continue with rounds two and three beginning at 8:30 a.m. .
