Water tariffs in Azerbaijan will be differentiated.

As Day.Az reports, this is reflected in the National Strategy for the Effective Use of Water Resources.

According to the strategy, for this purpose, in 2024-2027 it is planned to complete tariff regulation for paid use of water between various consumers, as well as to begin the development and implementation of mechanisms related to the transition to tariff differentiation. For this purpose, it is envisaged to improve the “Rules for paid use of water in the Republic of Azerbaijan” and revise tariffs for paid use of water.

This will ensure that the regions involved in the phased transition to cost-based tariffs are identified, tariffs are differentiated and applied within the pilot project.

Ultimately, it will be possible to move to the use of cost-based tariffs in individual regions and to continuously expand the assessment of socio-economic efficiency and the application of differentiated tariff policies on a regional scale.
