“We are Fongosos:” rain of memes after stimulation with donkey bananas

Time and again memes return about a situation that, at first glance, seems to be irrelevant, but in a country like Cuba, wrapped between idyll and scarcity, it is a topic of debate, or “chucho” for the active digital community.

What did they come out with now? Phrases such as “We are phongosity,” “FongoVisión,” “Hasta el fongo siempre,” “The designer of the 20 bill knew things,” are the center of dozens of memes alluding to the Cuban government’s encouragement of teachers at a Guantanamo school, whose prize was a hand of donkey banana.

And the teachers, belonging to the Wilber Galano basic secondary school in Baracoa, were “awarded” for the results of a methodological visit to the province on November 7 and 8 and in what way. Cuba News 360 shares some of these memes published on various Facebook pages and groups.

The worst thing, the users themselves say, was not the “recognition,” but their happy face upon receiving it, in a Cuba where the shortage of teachers is increasingly worrying, with a figure of 17,000 teachers, according to the authorities.

However, since this Island is a “street lamp”, the government, last September, did not stop offering its help with teachers so that it could fulfill its mission in Jamaica.
