Today, Thursday, the National Investment Authority announced work to develop the agricultural reality through its investment projects portal, while indicating that there are great efforts to address the challenges facing the sector.

The authority said in a statement received by the (INA): “The Director General of the Economic and Technical Department, Ammar Abdul Jabbar, chaired a meeting of the investment bodies of Baghdad, Najaf, Babylon, Wasit, Muthanna, Maysan, and Diyala, in the presence of representatives of the ministries of planning, agriculture, and water resources,” indicating that “the meeting discussed the nature of the projects.” Agricultural projects lagging behind at the level of investment bodies, and agricultural investment projects granted licenses and suspended due to the water quota or the signing of the investment contract with the sectoral entity.”

Abdul-Jabbar stressed that “the National Investment Authority is working to develop the agricultural reality through its investment projects portal, simplifying procedures related to granting licenses and reducing administrative bureaucracy, which contributes to encouraging investors to start projects inside Iraq.”

He added, “There are great efforts to address the challenges facing the sector, and work to develop the necessary studies at the legal and technical level to advance Iraqi investment policy.”
