The government approved by a large majority the principles of the agreement with Lebanon, and Prime Minister Lapid, Defense Minister Gantz and Energy Minister Elharar made a statement to the media last night (Wednesday) regarding the signing of the maritime agreement with Lebanon. During the press conference Lapid was asked about the timing of the agreement, the way to approve it and the opposition from the coalition.
Shikley’s sting
“In light of the promiscuous behavior of the opposition, we decided not to bring the agreement to the Knesset’s approval,” Lapid answered and ignited a storm. This morning (Thursday) Amichai Shikli reprimanded him and wrote: “Lapid: ‘In light of the promiscuous conduct of the opposition and in light of Netanyahu’s refusal to say there is one God and one Yair Lapid, we have decided to cancel the Knesset elections.'”
Clarification for those without a sense of humor, Lapid has not yet said this sentence, it is a reference to his unfortunate excuse for not bringing the agreement to a vote in the plenary.

He then clarified: “Clarification for those without a sense of humor, Lapid has not yet said this sentence, it is a reference to his unfortunate excuse for not bringing the agreement to a vote in the plenary.”
Lapid’s explanation
Lapid said that “according to the law, the government is responsible for international agreements. The one responsible for Israel’s security is the defense minister and me. We will not shirk our responsibilities. We are responsible for the results. We are all before elections.”
“It’s not that we brought an agreement before the elections,” clarified the Prime Minister, “we worked on the agreement and elections came as a surprise. The schedules clashed. We will not manage Israel’s security for political considerations. We are deployed and making every effort. Since the establishment of the state, we have been fighting terrorism.”
“In light of the promiscuous behavior of the opposition – we decided not to bring the agreement to a vote in the Knesset.” This is how Prime Minister Yair Lapid answered the question of our political correspondent Moriah Asraf Walberg. watch@MoriahAsraf pic.twitter.com/UINt9ZCzLD
