He added, “Iraq and Syria are two sister countries linked by deep historical, geographical, and cultural ties, and the Iraqi Council of Representatives stresses the importance of Syria restoring it’s true and pivotal role in the Arab region and removing the effects of what happened, which affected everyone,” adding: “We also all affirm our full support for Syria’s independence and territorial integrity.” We categorically reject any attempt to undermine its sovereignty or threaten its security and stability.”
He pointed out that “the Iraqi Council of Representatives expresses its solidarity with the Syrian people at this important stage. It also calls for maintaining security and public order, protecting lives and property, and ensuring the safety of public and private institutions in a way that contributes to achieving stability and a peaceful transition that meets the aspirations of the Syrian people.”
He continued: “We reaffirm that the choices of the Syrian people are their choices,which we respect,and that the stability and security of Syria is directly reflected in the stability of Iraq and the entire region,” calling on the international community and all regional parties to “support the syrian people to achieve a safe and stable future that is compatible with their free will and legitimate aspirations.” .
