Salam said in a statement to Al-Iraqiya News – and later the (INA): “We are counting on the support of iraq and the initiative of the Iraqi prime Minister in the reconstruction.”
He added, “Iraq has not left Lebanon, and we are grateful for the initiative of the prime Minister in the reconstruction, and we thank the Iraqi government and people for their efforts and their permanent support for lebanon.”
Salam continued, “Serious work has begun towards the second stage of saving Lebanon.”
He said, ”The American side is serious about a ceasefire to reach the stage of peace.”
