The Lebanese Interior Minister Bassam Mawlawi expressed, on Monday, that he hoped that an emergency Arab-Islamic summit would pressure the Zionist entity to cease fire in Lebanon, and he stressed that there is an unprecedented displacement crisis in his country.
Mawlawi said in press statements – and the (later INA): “Some drafts of conditions laid down by the Zionist enemy for Lebanon were read,” explaining that “his country is demanding a ceasefire.”
He added, “Our goal is to establish security and stability in the south and in all of Lebanon,” pointing out that “we are not looking for a new international resolution because without that there are many obstacles.”
He expressed that “his country is committed to the implementation of Resolution 1701, because that alone is the basis for achieving security,” expressing that he was “hopeful that the emergency Arab-Islamic summit will push on the entity cease fire.”
Mawlawi stressed that ”his country demands an immediate ceasefire that will restore security and stability to the south and return the population to their lands,” stressing that “an unprecedented displacement crisis has been witnessed by Lebanon in the country’s history.”
