Israeli special forces have killed two wanted Palestinians during an operation in the West Bank, the Israeli army (IDF) announced today, as quoted by DPA.
The soldiers planned to arrest several suspects near the town of Tulkarem last night. Two men, one of them armed, tried to escape and the Israeli military was forced to open fire.
According to the IDF, the Palestinians were wanted for “terrorist activity”.
Palestinian news agency Wafa quoted the Red Crescent as saying that during the operation, a small child, the son of one of those killed, was wounded in the head by a bullet fragment.
Since then, more than 740 Palestinians have died in the occupied Palestinian territory in Israeli military operations, armed clashes and extremist attacks, according to the health ministry in Ramallah.
