The procedure for the construction and development of the industrial parks and zones of the Ministry of Innovation and Growth under the Recovery Plan has been extremely successful. It finances 11 parks in 10 cities. In this regard, we propose that 100 million BGN be allocated in Budget 2025 for the National Industrialization Program of Bulgaria. Through it, it will be possible to finance more zones and parks in the country.
This was stated by the Minister of Innovation and Growth, Assoc. Dr. Rosen Karadimov, in the Thrace Economic Zone, where he held a meeting with its management and investors in the region. He got acquainted on the spot with the progress of projects that are being built with the support of the ministry. Karadimov emphasized that precisely with the measures under the Law on the Promotion of Investments, MIR supports, on the one hand, businesses for their investment projects, and, on the other hand, municipalities for the supply infrastructure that everyone uses.
In recent months, two contracts for the construction of technical infrastructure worth BGN 6 million have been approved in the Plovdiv region. The investment projects are in high-tech production worth nearly BGN 30 million and will create more than 100 new jobs. At the moment, three requests from investors implementing their investment projects – in the municipality of “Maritsa” and the municipality of Kuklen – for financial support of BGN 7.6 million for infrastructure are under consideration for the district.
In total, Maritsa, Kuklen and Asenovgrad have received nearly BGN 17 million from the budget of the Ministry of Municipal Road Infrastructure in accordance with the Investment Promotion Act. Investment projects of 14 companies have been supported for a total of nearly half a billion BGN. which have created over 2,300 jobs in the three municipalities.
The minister thanked the executive director Plamen Panchev for the efforts they are making and emphasized that the industrial zones in Plovdiv are a model that should be followed in the rest of the country. “The Thrace economic zone is proof that foreign investors come when there is a built logistics system, industrial parks. When the infrastructure is ready and the state stands behind the investment,” Karadimov also said. He added that the results are good when the efforts of business and the state are combined.
Karadimov noted that they are working hard to attract a foreign technology giant to the Plovdiv region, which is interested in opening a production facility.
During his visit to Plovdiv, he inspected the new Schneider Electric factory under construction. The electrical components company received a priority investment project certificate from the ministry.
