What does it mean.. Microsoft introduces advanced voice controls in Windows…

by time news

(MENAFN- Youm7) Microsoft has always allowed users to control the sound of individual applications that are currently running, until Windows 10, the feature was placed inside the speaker icon on the right side of the taskbar, and all users had to do was right-click on it and choosing the ‘Audio Mixer’ options, but things changed with Windows 11 and expanded volume control was hidden under the Settings app which users had to find manually.

It seems that Microsoft is making adjustments in this regard because the latest Windows Insider Preview build of Windows 11 brings back the advanced volume control right inside the speaker icon, and although the company has not officially confirmed the new control as users still need to enable it to experimental science.

What is this new voice control?
The new Volume Control is basically the ‘Volume Mixer’ we used to see with older versions of Windows, where it’s just a revamped or let’s say Windows 11 version of that, in this case Microsoft added a new icon in front of the volume control slider Sound is under quick settings.

Clicking it brings up a new page with the option to switch devices and adjust volume levels for different apps and services running on the device.

How to make things easier for users
If you have used a volume mixer before, then you can understand its importance, if you haven’t, a volume mixer allows you to control the volume of each application, and this helps users to permanently mute an application or adjust the volume of different applications, games, etc. directly from the taskbar.

Note that the feature has not yet been released in the stable build. It is tested with specific experimental labs under the experimental label.
