/ The head of the Iraq Center for Human Rights in Basra Governorate, the southernmost part of Iraq, Ali Al-Abadi, denied today, Saturday, that clashes had occurred between Iraqi workers and cadres in a Chinese company.

Al-Abadi told Agency, “The information that spoke about clashes between Iraqi workers and a Chinese company at the site of the Italian company Eni within the Zubair oil field in Basra, due to not calculating additional hours and not adhering to the required percentage for employing local workers, is incorrect.”

Al-Abadi called, “to take information from its correct sources and not to confuse the situation in Basra.”

Iraqi media circulated news earlier today about clashes between Iraqi workers and the Chinese company at the site of the Italian company Eni within the Zubair oil field, attributing the reason for this to not calculating overtime hours and not adhering to the required rate for employing local workers.
