Every year, a list of the best passport issuing countries is made public. Similarly, the assessment of passports for the year 2022 was recently published.

Every year, London-based immigration consultancy Henley Passport Index 2022 publishes a ranking of the world’s strongest and weakest passports.

Passport Ranking tells you how many countries you can enter without a visa. It varies from country to country and is determined by many economic and other factors.

The world’s strongest passport

Topping the 2022 passport rankings, Japan’s passport is considered the most powerful passport in the world. With this passport you can travel to 193 countries without a visa.

In second place are Singapore and South Korea. Their passports allow visa-free travel to 192 countries.

Germany and Spain occupy the third place. Their passports allow visa-free travel to 190 countries.

Finland, Italy and Luxembourg occupy the fourth place and Austria, Denmark, the Netherlands and Sweden occupy the fifth place.

India’s passport is ranked 87th in this list. With an Indian passport, entry into around 60 countries is visa-free.

Similarly, Sri Lanka’s passport is ranked 103rd. A Sri Lankan passport allows visa-free travel to 42 countries.

A weak passport

It is noteworthy that Afghanistan has the weakest passport in the world. Last on the list is number 112. With this passport you can travel to 27 countries without a visa.

Iraq ranks 111th, Syria 110th and Pakistan 109th.
