It has been announced that only all rice ration card holders will get a Pongal gift package of Rs.1000.
Chief Minister M.K.Stalin has ordered to provide Rs.1000 cash along with one kg of sweet rice and sugar to all rice family card holders and families living in Sri Lankan Tamil rehabilitation camps who will celebrate Thai Pongal in 2023.
It has been informed that Chief Minister Stalin Pongal prize giving event will be inaugurated on January 02, 2023 in Chennai and on the same day the respective district ministers will inaugurate all the districts.
Rs.1000 Pongal prize money can be availed only for rice ration card holders. It is to be noted that the sugar card holders will not get this money.
There are 5 types of ration cards. They are PHH, PHH-AAY, NPHH, NPHH-S, NPHH-NC
PHH – Priority Household
PHH – AAY (Priority house hold- Antyodaya Anna Yojana)
NPHH – Non Priority Household
NPHH-S- Sugar
NPHH-NC – No Commodity
In this, PHH A ration card marked as ‘Rice’ will be given all the items including rice.
PHH-AAY If mentioned, you can get all the items including 35 kg of rice for this ration card.
NPHH-S Only sugar will be given to the ration card which mentions that. NPHH-NC Ration cardholders are informed that there is no product.
In the notification issued by the Tamil Nadu government, it was stated that Rs.1000 will be given as prize money only to rice card holders. According to the 3 types mentioned above PHH, PHH-AAY, NPHH It seems that Rs.1000 will be given only to rice ration card holders.
