Born on July 10, 1968 in Mexico City, he trained as a mechanical engineer and obtained a specialization in public security at the defunct National Research and Security Center (CISEN).

During his administration, he implemented various security strategies in a context of increasing violence, earning the nickname “super police”.
However, he faces accusations of receiving bribes from Sinaloa cartel and having links to organized crime.

Today, Wednesday, October 16, the juez Brian M. Coganwho also convicted Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán, will hand down his sentence.
