More than 90% of parents observe that their family is less stressed when they manage to eat together regularly. This is the conclusion of a survey published in October by the team of Erin Michos, deputy director of the preventive cardiology unit at John Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, United States. “Sharing a meal is a great way to reduce stress, boost self-esteem and improve social skills, especially with children”, she explains about these results. This work confirms numerous studies in psychology, sociology and even anthropology that detail the many benefits on physical and mental health of shared meals.
