Riga The fine sandy beach stretches seemingly endlessly in both directions, it smells of salt and pine trees, the forest begins directly behind the dunes. If you stand on the beach with your back to the Baltic Sea, you can see the playful turrets of Jurmala’s Art Nouveau villas behind the trees.

The Latvian seaside resort is probably the most famous holiday resort in the Baltic States. Only a few kilometers away from the capital Riga, it serves as a place of recreation for both locals and tourists from abroad. The proximity to the capital, the good connections, but also the excellent digital infrastructure make holiday resorts in the Baltic States like Jurmala so popular.

And: the width. Because even in the high season there is always a quiet stretch of beach to be found in many places. Against this background, it is surprising that very few properties are owned by foreigners, especially since the temperatures in the Baltic States remain pleasant even in the summer months.
