With a completion rate of 60%, work continues on the Mosul Olympic Stadium

The company executing the Mosul Olympic Stadium continues its work, witnessing a clear progress in the completion rate, reaching 60%. The delegation of the Ministry of Youth and Sports conducted a field tour to see the reality of work in the stadium, which has a capacity of 30,000 spectators, under the supervision of the Turkish Orunlar Company and Al Qassas Trading and General Contracting Company Limited.

The Director General of the Department of Engineering and Technical Affairs, Abdul Khaleq Khader Al-Khafaji, said in a statement received by the (INA): “The repeated visits to the strategic projects implemented by the Ministry are a message of support and follow-up of the work stages, resolving all their engineering problems, and developing the necessary solutions, including the Mosul Olympic Stadium.” And we strive to complete it during this year to be an important addition to other stadiums that host local and international matches, under the direct guidance of the Minister of Youth, Ahmed Al-Mubarqa.”
Al-Khafaji added, “The stages of work completed in the project were reviewed in the various engineering, construction, mechanical, electrical, and other paragraphs implemented in the project, and the actual completion rate reached more than 60%. Many engineering observations were submitted and work must be done to implement them in a better way.”
It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Youth and Sports laid the foundation stone for the Mosul Olympic Stadium project in 2012, and it is located on the left side of the city of Mosul. The project contains a main stadium with a capacity of 30,000 spectators, a secondary stadium with a capacity of 2,000 spectators with its own running track, and a training field with a capacity of 500 spectators. It is a four-star hotel with a capacity of 70 rooms, in addition to private parking garages, gardens, and main gates.
