The Xiaomi brand has announced its flagship gaming trio, the Redmi K60, in its home country, China. These three phones are Redmi K60, Redmi K60 Pro, and Redmi K60E. There are many commonalities between the three series in terms of specifications and design, but at the same time there are some interesting fundamental differences.

The Redmi K60 Pro is definitely the most powerful phone in the series as it is equipped with the most powerful and latest Qualcomm processor chip and some other groundbreaking features that make it superior to its cheaper sibling. The Pro model is the most powerful of the Redmi K60 series phones

In terms of design, we will find that the tri-series appear with the same appearance and general exterior design, but there will be models with a back side made of vegan leather, while there will be other models with a back side made of glass.

There is also an exclusive version called the Championship Edition, which comes with a design inspired by sports racing cars and contains glossy carbon fiber wheels, but certainly this model will be exclusive to the Chinese market only.

But the flagship series trio each feature ultra-slim bezels and a central punch-hole to house the front camera. All the physical buttons are on the right edge of the phones, and the fingerprint scanner is built into the bottom of each phone’s screen.

All three phones feature a 120Hz high refresh rate screen but there are differences in the type of display panel used on the trio.

Firstly, both Redmi K60 Pro and Redmi K60 have a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen with a refresh rate of 120Hz with QHD + resolution and support for a 480Hz touch sampling rate, and this screen is manufactured by TCL. This screen has a peak brightness of 1440 nits. But the Redmi K60E model has a peak screen brightness of only 1200 nits.

The Pro model is the only phone powered by the new Qualcomm processor

The more expensive Pro model is powered by Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor while the K60 model is powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor and as for the K60E model it is powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 8200 processor.

The Pro model comes with different storage capacities starting with 8 GB RAM and up to 16 GB, and this is the same with the K60 model, but the Pro model contains LPDDR5X random memory, while the K60 model contains LPDDR5 random memory. As for the K60E, it contains a maximum of 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM.

The Pro model is equipped with UFD 4.0 flash drive while the other two models use UFS 3.1 flash drive.

The tri-series comes with the MIUI 14 interface based on the Android 13 system, and the Pro model contains a 5000 mAh battery that supports 120W fast wired charging.

The other two models have a larger 5,500mAh battery that supports 67W wired charging on both phones. Both the Pro and K60 models support 30W wireless charging, but the K60E model does not support wireless charging.

Notable differences in camera capabilities on series phones

The Pro model comes with a 50-megapixel primary camera thanks to a Sony IMX800 sensor with an f/1.88 lens slot, supported by OIS optical stabilization technology and EIS electronic stabilization. Accompanied by an 8MP ultra-wide angle lens with a 120-degree field of view and f/2.2 aperture, and a 2MP macro camera.

As for the K60, it has a 64-megapixel main camera, which is an OmniVision OV64B sensor that provides support for optical stabilization and electronic stabilization as well. The wide-field and macro cameras are the same as those on the Pro model.

As for the K60E model, it has a 48-megapixel main sensor, and the other two cameras are the same cameras used on the other models.

The front camera on both the K60 and K60 Pro is 16MP, while the K60E has a 20MP front camera.

Price and availability

The price of the Pro model starts at 3299 yuan, equivalent to 473 US dollars, while the price of the K60 starts at 2499 yuan, equivalent to 358 US dollars, and the price of the K60E starts at 2199 yuan, equivalent to 315 US dollars.

Although Xiaomi did not share any information about when the phones will be launched in the global markets, but 100% these phones will make their way to the global markets during the new year – at least two phones from the series.
