Karachi: New Zealand player Devon Conway has scored the first international century in two consecutive years, 2022 and 2023. Notably, he scored his first international centuries of the year in a domestic Test match in 2022 and an overseas Test match in 2023.
The Saudi-led New Zealand cricket team is touring Pakistan and is currently playing a 2-match Test cricket series. Conway, the team’s opener, has been performing well in this series.
The ongoing 2nd Test in Karachi has started today. He scored 122 runs off 191 balls. It included 16 fours and 1 six. He made his debut in Test cricket in 2021. So far he has played 21 innings in 12 matches and has scored 4 centuries and 5 fifties.
He had scored 122 runs in the Test match against Bangladesh in New Zealand at the beginning of 2022. With this, he became the first player to score an international century in the beginning of both the years 2022 and 2023. The 31-year-old is currently playing for Chennai Super Kings in IPL cricket.
