Brighton‘s Ecuadorian full-back Pervis Estupiñán visited the Premier League leader in an expected duel on matchday 30.
Although they hit early with a goal from Danny Welbeck (2′), Brighton could not maintain the advantage and ended up falling 2-1 against Liverpool, who took the 3 points with scores from Luis Díaz and Mohamed Salah.
Brighton was just the goal and nothing more, giving the ball and prominence to Liverpool who deservedly came back on the scoreboard. As for Pervis Estupiñán, he was included in the starting lineup, remaining on the field until minute 90+3.
The Ecuadorian full-back showed two faces in this match, a bad one when defending and a better one when attacking. After the two injuries he suffered in the middle of the season, Estupiñán is slowly recovering his playing rhythm, although he still has a long way to go to reach the level he showed last season.
After playing 29 games in the Premier League, Brighton occupies ninth place in the overall standings with 42 points.
