On an intense work tour Nogalesthe governor of Sonora, Alfonso Durazo montaño carried out a historic delivery of urban transportation units, inaugurated main roads, awarded scholarships from the ’Sonora de Oportunidades’ program to university students and toured the Isssteson Hospital of the border municipality.
As part of the commitment of the Government of Sonora and in response to the historic demand for the reactivation of public transportation, the president delivered 20 van-type units to the mayors of Nogales, Juan Francisco Gim, and of San Luis Río Colorado, César Iván Sandoval.

Accompanied by his work team, Durazo inaugurated the modernization of adolfo Ruiz Cortines Avenue, a high-traffic road that will benefit thousands of citizens, with an investment of 630 million pesos.
“I am persistent that Nogales represents the border face of the Fourth Transformation. I appreciate the understanding of the merchants and citizens. Now we have a road with extraordinary fluidity and an unthinkable added value for businesses in the area,” he highlighted.
The works cover from Circunvalación Héroes street to Tepic, and include 22 streets and five intersections.This work is part of the infrastructure credit of 2.1 billion pesos destined for Nogales.
As part of his agenda in Nogales, Durazo delivered 501 scholarships from the Sonora de Oportunidades program to university students, with an investment of more than two million pesos corresponding to the period August-December 2024.

He also supervised the rehabilitation of the main building of the Nogales Technological Institute (ITN), a project that includes the acquisition of computer equipment, furniture and equipment for laboratories and classrooms. This effort will benefit almost three thousand students and required an investment of more than 44 million pesos.
