The Central Iraqi Speedball Federation announced the completion of the national team’s preparations for the game to participate in the World Cup competitions that will be held in the Arab Republic of Egypt on the 31st of this month.

The official spokesman for the Federation of Sports, Ali Al-Rubaie, told the (INA), today, Sunday: “The national speedball team has completed its preparations to participate in the World Championship with self-efforts by the Federation and the players, due to the delay in disbursing financial allocations to sports federations from the Ministry of Finance,” indicating “The lack of funding caused the cancellation of external training camps and the sufficiency of an internal camp.”
Al-Rubaie added, “The national team in the junior and advanced categories, male and female, has a good opportunity to achieve an advanced classification for Iraq in the world championship competitions, despite the participation of many strong teams.”
Al-Rubaie continued, “It is hoped that the team’s delegation will head to Cairo the day after tomorrow, Tuesday, to participate in the tournament,” pointing out that “the press conference for the tournament will be held next Tuesday, while the competitions will begin on Thursday.”
