New Delhi: Karnataka Congress president DK Sivakumar has said that the party will not be able to unite without the Gandhi family at the helm of the party. He was responding to rising protests against the leadership in the wake of the Congress’ setback in the Assembly elections in five states.
‘Without the Gandhi family, the Congress cannot stand together. They are very important for the unity of the Congress party. It is impossible for the Congress to survive without the Gandhi family. NDTV reports that DK Sivakumar said.

Protests against the Congress were raised from many quarters in the wake of the heavy defeat of the Congress in five states. Many had come to the scene demanding a change of leadership. Earlier, the G23 leaders had written to party president Sonia Gandhi seeking a change of leadership, saying the meeting would be held after the fall of the Congress.
