The Women’s Asia Cup T20 cricket tournament starts in Bangladesh on Saturday.
Bangladesh vs Thailand, India vs Sri Lanka teams will face each other on the first day.
Despite losing the T20I series in the recent tour of England, the Indian team comes into this match with a historic ODI series in hand. Although the Indian team is still struggling in the T20 format, it is performing well compared to other teams in Asia.
India won the silver medal in women’s T20 cricket, which was introduced for the first time at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games in August. As far as the team players are concerned, captain Hammanpreet Kaur and Smriti Mandhana are in excellent form in batting. Shafali Vama, Sabineni Meghna, Dayalan Hemalatha are yet to show their determination.
Jemima Rodriguez, who did not play in the England series due to injury, can be expected to add strength to the team. In bowling, Renuka Singh Miratta, Radha Yadav, Rajeshwari Gaekwad, Deepti Chama can also be expected to take wickets and serve as assistant referees.
