In Alverca, the II Liga team Rio Ave took to penalties in an electrifying match, this Saturday, in the fourth round of the Portuguese Cup.
After 120 minutes of a 2-2 draw, Rio Ave goalkeeper Jhonatan Luiz saved two penalties and became the hero of the match. That left Ribatejo fans bitter, but Rio Ave de Petit moves on.
Alysson and Carter scored Alverca’s goal in the first half. Rio Ave lost in the 87th minute… but they won a final with goals from Zoabi and Clayton, from the penalty spot, in the 90+5m.
Alverca regrets that Thauan Lara was sent off in the 82nd minute, due to the accumulation of yellow cards. After that, Rio de Janeiro scored two goals.
It is one of the first results of the evening, after Lusitânia Acores lost against São João de Ver, 0-2 and Lusitano de Évora beat AVS (3-2). A day before, Sporting won Amarante 6-0.
