Decisive groups onyl after Nations League quarter-finals
The participants in eight groups are not yet steadfast. the reason for this is the quarter finals in the League of Nations, which were held for the first time. Thus, placeholders were drawn for the time being. The group that Italy, Germany, Denmark, Portugal, Croatia, France, Netherlands and Spain will be in will only be decided after the quarter finals.
Two winners of both groups qualify directly for the World Cup. The twelve runners-up will play in the remaining four places along with the top four group winners in the 2024/25 Nations League who have not already qualified for the final or play-offs.
