The Edu Healthcare Center construction project is a project to build a school complex in Jeongok-eup, Yeoncheon-gun through collaboration between Yeoncheon-gun and Yeoncheon Office of Education. The center has one underground floor and three above-ground floors, has a total floor area of 7,560 m2, and a total project cost of 37.8 billion won is expected to be invested, and is targeted for completion in the first half of 2028.
The Edu Healthcare Center is an innovative space that provides various convenience facilities and educational programs to local residents. It provides resident convenience facilities such as a swimming pool, bowling alley, and bathing facilities, as well as education and care such as a base-type Neulbom school, after-school classes linked to Neulbom, and a shared school. Yeoncheon County Mayor Kim Deok-hyeon said, “Passing this investment review is an important turning point for the construction of the Edu Healthcare Center,” and added, “Through the establishment of the center, we will create Yeoncheon where people want to live and where life is happy.”
Meanwhile, Yeoncheon-gun announced on the 1st that it was finally selected for the high-precision electronic map construction project contest hosted by the National Geographic Information Institute of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
95% of Yeoncheon-gun’s total area of 676㎢ is a military facility protection area, and 37% of this, or 237㎢, is a controlled protection area. As a result, many changes in topographical features occurred in the border area, and it is the only one among the 31 cities and counties in Gyeonggi-do. There was no digital topographical map of 1,000 scale and it was difficult to promote the project.
Through this project, Yeoncheon-gun invested a total budget of KRW 1 billion, including KRW 500 million in national funding secured through a public contest, and utilized the latest aerial photography and drone technology to accurately reflect the regional characteristics of the mountainous terrain, establish a land use plan, and develop various The plan is to build future urban development and infrastructure, including basic data for development projects and GIS construction.
