Leader of Opposition and Jatiya Party Chairman Gholam Mohammad Quader MP said that there is no quality and work-oriented education system for the youth. Therefore, the youth is moving abroad. Anyway they want to go abroad. Due to the lack of trust in the country, the country is depriving the youth of talent and work force. Those who are staying in the country are getting frustrated due to lack of employment. Youths are becoming addicted to drugs due to depression.

He said these things in the speech of the chief guest at the Iftar party and discussion meeting of the founding anniversary of the National Students Society at the Institution of Diploma Engineers auditorium in the capital on Wednesday (March 27) afternoon.

Gholam Mohammad Quader said that two-thirds of the working population of the country are young people. 40 percent of these youths are living an idle life. They have no education, no training. These unemployed youth are of no use to the society. How to make this huge youth population functional and use it for the benefit of the country is the big challenge at present.

He said that the youth are becoming a burden instead of an asset. They have caused social and economic chaos. Drug addicted youth is becoming one of the reasons for the deterioration of the law and order situation. Instead of being a contributor to economic activity, the youth are becoming a hindrance in many ways. Thousands of students leave the country every year due to poor quality of education, lack of post-graduation jobs and extreme uncertainty. They leave the country for the purpose of education but do not return to the country after completing their education. The country is denying the services of talented children. Bangladesh will suffer long-term damage due to its adverse effects.

In 2023, 52 thousand 799 students from Bangladesh went abroad, Gholam Mohammad Quader said, among them 8 thousand 524 went to the United States, 6 thousand 586 to the United Kingdom, 5 thousand 835 to Canada, 5 thousand 714 to Malaysia, 5 thousand to Germany. 46 people, 4 thousand 987 people in Australia, 2 thousand 802 people in Japan and 2 thousand 606 people went to India.

There is no medical service in the country under the government management, Japar Chairman said, complaining that for those who have money, there is some treatment under the private management. And for those who do not have money, there is nothing in the name of treatment. However, huge sums of money are being spent annually on modernizing healthcare, but nothing is being done. If the quality of medical system and service is improved a little, it will be possible to keep hundreds of crores of rupees in the country. We do not understand why the government is not giving importance to this issue.
