“The president was summoned as a defendant to the meeting on February 28 on Poroshenko’s administrative lawsuit against the president,” the court told Interfax.

Earlier today, Petro Poroshenko, who is now in Europe, did not come for interrogation on the high treason case at the Bureau of Investigation. As his lawyer Ilya Novikov explained, Mr. Poroshenko will return to the country in the first half of January.

Mr. Poroshenko was suspected of treason on December 20. He left Ukraine after they tried to serve him a summons in the case of coal supplies from Donbass. His party attributed this to a pre-planned diplomatic tour to Turkey and Poland. The person involved in the case is also the head of the political council of the Opposition Platform – For Life party Viktor Medvedchuk. He does not admit guilt.
