According to İdman.biz, a briefing was held at Heydar Aliyev International Airport in honor of Aliyeva, who became the first world champion wrestler in this age category in the history of Azerbaijani women’s wrestling.
Answering questions from journalists, Zhalya noted that she was very happy to become a world champion:
“True, this is not my first success. But I became the world champion for the first time. From now on I will try to achieve great success. My hardest fight was with the Japanese woman. I started the fight very well. I was very tired because she was fast. But In the end, I managed to win. My immediate plans are to prepare even better for the upcoming competitions. I have to prepare for the European and World Championships and the Olympic Games.”
Note that Zhalya won the World Cup, defeating Ukrainian Alina Filipovic (7:4), Turkish Sevim Akbaş (10:0), American Sofia Macaluso (10:0) and Japanese Ruki Natami (10:8).
