The official Syrian news agency, SANA, reported at dawn on Thursday that the Syrian air defenses responded to hostile targets in the airspace of Latakia, noting that the Zionist attack led to the outbreak of fires at the entrance to the coastal city.

SANA said in a fresh news series, “Our air defense media are facing hostile targets in the airspace of Latakia,” noting that “firefighting teams are working to extinguish the fires resulting from the Zionist attack at the entrance to to send out the city of Latakia. .”
Later, SANA confirmed, “Calm has returned to the atmosphere in the city of Latakia after the Zionist attack.”
This is one of the rare strikes targeting the coastal city, considered a stronghold of President Bashar al-Assad, with the Russian Hmeimim air base located close to it.
